Each student will read the books listed above, but will choose one outside adolescent novel for class projects and group work. You will need to choose one book that is not on our class list to create your final adolescent literature project.
Please refer to the Great Adolescent Literature Resources page on this Wiki, to browse some excellent websites that list quality adolescent literature suggestions.
You will be completing the following new literacies activities using free online digital tools.:
1. A thematic braiding using Google Document Presentations
2. A character sketch journal using Voice Threads
3. A digital poem, using any technology you choose: Garageband for a podcast, i-movie, Voicethread, etc.
4. A Public Service Announcement, using Wevideo, i-Movie, WIndows Movie Maker, etc.
You will post these activities on our class Wiki in the Our Digital Work section.
Final Project: You will also choose another book to read from the lists provided or one that you are passionate about teaching. This book will be the focus of your final project, which you will be building all semester. The final project will be a WIki of your own with three digital projects based on the novel of your choice.
